Dealer Expo
The Powersports Dealer Expo is held every year in the late winter,
usually in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dealers visit the Expo to
see all the latest powersports products and accessories.
The show is mostly focused on accessories, clothing
and helmets, but this year there were literally dozens of scooter
manufacturers represented. It looks like motorcycle dealers
are starting to get scooter fever and see scooters as a way to boost
traffic and revenue.
Here are some photos and information on a few of the
scooters at the show.

TGB Scooter:
This is the TGB R50X, one of the nicest-looking scooters at the show. The TGB
representative told me it was there to gauge reaction
from the crowd, but it sure looked like a production
ready model to me. Some very nice touches,
including a cool miniature spoiler in the back and a
tail light that looks like a jet exhaust. He said
the styling cues were supposed to be reminiscent of a
fighter jet. Very cool! |

Derbi: Derbi had this fantastic looking
scooter-motorcycle on display. I'm not sure what it's called;
there was no literature available and the booth was
crowded with people so I didn't get a chance to talk to
a representative. Here's a photo of the
instruments:

Scooter Prototype: Derbi also had this
scooter-motorcycle on display; calling this a scooter is
really stretching the definition. I couldn't find
any information on this one either, and some of the
parts had the appearance of a prototype.

GPR Scooter: One more Derbi, I guess this is a
motorcycle and not a scooter? I think they called
this one the GPR. Not sure how big it is, the
engine looks like a 125cc.
